Keto baked spicy feta / Bouyiourdi

Bouyiourdi is an amazing oven-baked dish, with tomatoes, peppers and feta cheese, usually served as an appetizer. Traditionally, it is spicy, but -as all spicy dishes- you may have it as hot as you like. Enjoy it with your toasted keto bread!

180 gr tomatoes

150 gr feta cheese - regular or vegetarian

1 medium red pepper(s) (119 gr)

3 tbsp(s) olive oil (41 gr)


salt (to taste)

ground black pepper (to taste)

tsp(s) dried ground oregano


red hot chili pepper(s)


  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C / 350°F
  2. Cut the tomatoes into 12 slices, the feta cheese into 3 large chunk(s) and dice or slice the red pepper(s)
  3. Use 3 small baking dish(es) (or simply use aluminium foil) and lay 2 tomato slices at the bottom of each dish
  4. Place a chunk of feta cheese on top of the tomato slices
  5. Then, add the rest 2 slices of tomatoes on top of the feta cheese, as well as the red pepper pieces
  6. Add salt and pepper (to taste), season with oregano and sprinkle the olive oil
  7. Lastly, but optional, add a red hot chili pepper in the baking dish or some chili powder
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes and serve while still warm


✔ Preferably use plum or classic tomatoes

✔ You may use green, yellow, orange and/or red pepper
