Vegetarian keto green beans with browned onions
An easy to make, yet delicious, low carb dish, with green beans and onions. The more you cook the onions, the more caramelized they'll get; the less you cook the onions, the more tender they'll be. It's up to your taste!

Ingredients
3 tbsp(s) olive oil (41 gr)
1 medium red onion(s) (110 gr)
500 gr green beans
1 tbsp(s) balsamic vinegar (16 gr)
Seasoning
salt (to taste)
ground black pepper (to taste)
Instructions
- Place a deep skillet over medium heat and add the olive oil
- Thin slice or dice the onion(s), add in the skillet and stir, so to cover well with the oil
- Cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until browned. Set aside
- Add water in the skillet, bring to a boil and blanch the green beans for 5 minutes, until crisp-tender
- Carefully drain the hot water. Add cold water and drain once again
- Add the cooked onions, a bit of balsamic vinegar, salt & pepper (to taste), stir and serve
- Or: transfer to a baking dish and bake using the oven broiler, for up to more 10 minutes, until the onions get crispier and crunchier
Notes
✔ You may boil the green beans, using another skillet or pot, while cooking the onions
